Namibia and Taylor Morris
Use of a premium brand and selected Celebrities, to connect with a young and fashionable audienceThe Challenge
Namibia, is home to the oldest desert, the highest sand dunes and the largest canyon in Africa. However , for a UK audience, it does not have the English heritage of other locations, such as Kenya, and suffers from a lack of direct flights from UK airports.
The Idea
An ordinary advertising campaign would not do. Advertising pages and brochures would not lift the destination off the page and elevate it sufficiently vs competing destinations. We decided to maximise the impact of our investment, by focusing on a young and fashionable audience that would connect with the destination and act as role models for other visitors.
We selected two up and coming designers – Hugo Taylor and Charlie Morris – co-founders of eyewear brand Taylor Morris – to visit the the Namib Desert to execute the brand’s latest sunglasses shoot – a place where their stylish shades would be complimented by a unique backdrop
The Execution
We flew the designers and models out to Namibia and filmed the shoot. The video and other digital advertising materials were distributed across the web to raise awareness of the partnership and the destination. We also used selected travel media partners such as Escapism (the largest Travel Magazine in the UK) alongside Affiliate Marketing, Social Media and eDM.
