How we brought a Southern Californian oasis to the UK.

Visit Greater Palm Springs presented us with the opportunity to raise their profile as a leisure destination. They needed big-impact, “wow” moments to grab attention and move the needle on awareness of Greater Palm Springs, edging closer to other well-known Californian destinations.

Taking inspiration from the iconic sight of an airstream at Coachella Music Festival and Palm Spring’s credentials in mid-century modern (MCM) design, we reinvented an original American Airstream to become an iconic Palm Springs bungalow, complete with front and back yard activities, including free massage, juice bar, Virtual Reality station and live art demonstrations.

We took this desert oasis direct to UK audiences, stopping off at key cities and events across the UK and Ireland, offering a Greater Palm Springs moment of chill in their busy day.

Challenge

Greater Palm Springs is Southern California's most storied resort oasis, with nine cities each offering its own blend of experiences.

Its distinct offering and ease of access from the UK is relatively unknown. This presents an exciting opportunity to connect with UK holidaymakers in a creative, emotive and impactful way.

Insight

Greater Palm Springs, a mecca for wellness, boasts over 300 days of sunshine a year, offers adventurous outdoor activities, stunning golfing backdrops and an exciting arts and culture scene, that includes events such as Modernism Week and Coachella.

With such an array of holidays to have, Greater Palm Springs invites visitors to find their oasis.

Solution

We brought the 'Oasis' to the UK, hitting the road in true Palm Springs style, with an Original American Airstream, kitted out to channel the destination’s unmistakable vibe. Think Coachella’s Festival spirit meets California’s mid-century modern cool.

Taking it to key cities let us bring a slice of Greater Palm Springs to UK travellers, turning heads and sparking curiosity everywhere we went.
